This UFO encounter was so spectacular that it immediately drew attention of many major mainstream media. Videos documenting the UFO sighting went viral in an eye-blink.

On January 28, 2011 one of the most spectacular UFO appearances of all time took place above the Dome of the Rock. FOX News was only one of many mainstream TV channels to report on it.

Here are some examples:

(CBS): New viral YouTube videos show a UFO hovering over Jerusalem, then suddenly shooting up into the sky. You have to see it, and even then you may not believe it.

Multiple clips uploaded by different users show the sighting from different angles.

According to the video captions, the incident occurred on Jan. 28 and different clips show what appears to be a ball of light flying over the Dome of the Rock.

(Fox News): A glowing orb filmed hovering over the skyline of Jerusalem has left UFO experts dumbfounded.

The glowing orb was seen descending slowly over the holy city’s iconic Dome of the Rock before flickering and shooting skyward like a rocket. Similar UFO clips have been seen before and debunked as hoaxes. But this latest sighting has proved more difficult to dismiss — as it was recorded from four different perspectives.

Some UFO enthusiasts believe the videos — which have taken the Internet by storm — are final proof that aliens exist and came from space to visit us, while others say the unidentified object was the Hebrew god Elohim.

(Huffington Post): Dueling clips of a purported UFO hovering over Dome of the Rock, an Islamic shrine, on Jerusalem’s Temple Mount, have created an online ruckus since surfacing online.

Not surprisingly, AOL is reporting on the blogosphere’s ongoing debate over the legitimacy of the videos, which show round, bright objects hovering over the landmark’s iconic dome before rocketing upwards. The videos, which include audio of the inspired reactions of spectators, were reportedly shot over the weekend.

So far science has not been able to explain the multiple urban sightings of the UFO reported on Fox News. Nor has it been proven a hoax.
